Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Texans can now visit a physical therapist (PT) for treatment without a physician's referral with the
passing of HB 29 on September 1, 2019. This allows patients to bypass long wait times and costly and unnecessary visits to a physician and go directly to a PT to get the care they need.
My doctor suggests I go to a certain PT, but I want to come to Root PT and Wellness.
As the leader of your healthcare team, you have the right to choose the best healthcare professionals to get you where
you want to go. It is your right as a consumer to attend physical therapy where you believe you will have the greatest
benefit. Your doctor may refer you somewhere, but the ultimate choice is your's.
What can I expect on my first visit?
We begin by listening to you. We want to know about your symptoms, medical history, and any other pertinent
information that assists us in getting to the root of your symptoms. You'll be asked about your specific goals and your
most troubling symptoms, so we can focus on the parts of treatment that will give you the most relief. We will then
conduct a physical examination, which may include assessing how you move, muscle strength, balance, fascia mobility,
and if appropriate, an external/ internal pelvic examination. We will discuss your individualized plan of care,
treatment, and how long it may take. If time allows, we will initiate treatment so we can start getting you better and
learn how your body responds to physical therapy. At the end we will answer any remaining questions you may have,
schedule additional visits, if needed, and collect payment.
How long is each visit?
Your initial evaluation can last from 45-60 minutes. Follow-up visits last 30-60 minutes depending on your needs.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes will work great. Tennis shoes are recommended, but not required. Once treatment is discussed,
clothing can be better clarified.
Do you take insurance?
We are considered in-network with BCBS and Certified with TRICARE. We are an out-of-network provider for most
insurance plans at this time, but will submit any payments to your insurance company on your behalf. This allows us to
deliver the highest possible level of care to our clients. We are not restricted by insurance rules or standards that often
limit the quality of care offered in the health care field. We are happy to assist you with verification of your out-of-
network benefits. Do not let finances be the reason you do not seek treatment. Contact us to discuss your concerns.
PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, due to Medicare rules, we cannot accept any person carrying Medicare as their insurance
for physical therapy services at this time even if you would like to pay our cash rates.
Can I submit a claim to my insurance for reimbursement?
We will file with your insurance company at your request. We are considered out of network providers with most
insurance companies and most clients receive 50-80% reimbursement after their out-of-network deductible has been
met.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Yes, if you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours before your appointment you will be subject to a cancellation fee
of $50. We value all of our client's times and short notice does not allow for us to offer that appointment time to
someone else.
Why concierge physical therapy?
We lead busy lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. At times, stopping and driving out of your way 2-3 times a week for a
physical therapy appointment is not convenient and makes it to the bottom of your to-do list and your health suffers.
Concierge physical therapy allows for us to bring physical therapy to you, at a location of your choice.
Which areas for you serve?
We see patients from Addison, Allen, Celina, Dallas, Denton, Frisco, Little Elm, McKinney, Plano, Prosper and many
more. We cover Collin, Dallas, and Denton Counties.
